Today in The Four Seasons feature we are joined by Quilliver, where they describe the books they’d read in the seasons and why.
The Greengage Summer by Rumer Godden. I remember a golden, liquid atmosphere to this book, languid and timeless.
Blackberry Wine by Joanne Harris. This is about autumn magic – of transforming fruits and experience into new things and savouring them.
Thursbitch by Alan Garner. I’ve been looking forward to it for about 3 months but I lost my copy
and only found it again yesterday.
Precious Bane by Mary Webb: I bought a little copy of this a while ago and am looking forward to it. In Spring I’m busy in the garden so this rural book will do well then.
