This is my story, no fabrications, no bullshit, just a small glimpse into the life of a young woman. There is a lot to be said about going through the volatile years of ages 18-26. How do we get through them? How do we approach our decisions? How can we tell the difference between a man with good intentions and a man with a mission to get laid? You honestly can’t. There are so many things that young women must learn on their own. No matter how much a father or mother try to protect their children from the world, somehow the world happens anyway.
I Dated This Guy Once… is intended to not only entertain you, but also to somehow educate you through my experiences. We are all made up of our past experiences, both good and bad. It is these experiences that form the fabric of the future. With that said, maybe people will start looking at life, relationships and marriage differently. Maybe perspective is all we need to change this society. I have no idea. If nothing else, you will undoubtedly be entertained. Red wine recommended.
I Dated This Guy Once is all about Toni’s turbulent love life and how she deals with dating and relationships in many different countries. These are Toni’s memoirs and this is our chance to read the words and contemplate our own love lives.
I’m sad to say this but ‘I Dated This Guy Once’ was just not my cup of tea. It took me a while to get into the memoirs and even after, I just wasn’t overly thrilled. I feel bad that I have to write a review which isn’t positive, but you can’t always be happy, can you?
I’m not exactly the most optimistic person in the world but as I read I felt most chapters were full of pessimism and nothing really screamed out that she was happy. If you’re going to document your love life surely there has to be something you liked?
Now, without pouring too much negativity into the review, what I absolutely loved was how you did actually contemplate and think deeply about Toni’s words. Her words make you realize that you don’t need to have a perfect appearance, you can wear what you want, you should do things that make YOU happy and you should not always rely on gadgets to get you through the day. I firmly believe that a person feels ten times better away from technology for a bit and walking in the countryside helps relaxes you.
