There’s never a Wednesday where I think “Hmm, I don’t want any books this week’, that sentence just does not exist in a book lovers vocabulary – I always want books!
Below you will find a selection of books that I do need this week, and thanks to a lovely gift from Ann Troup, I will purchase some!
Jpod by Douglas Coupland
I did have a copy of this novel but I lent it to someone and sadly never got it back – naughty. It’s a little geeky, but really interesting!
Ethan Jarlewski and five co-workers whose surnames begin with “J” are bureaucratically marooned in jPod, a no-escape architectural limbo on the fringes of a massive Vancouver game design company. The jPodders wage daily battle against the demands of a boneheaded marketing staff, who daily torture employees with idiotic changes to already idiotic games.

The Duff – Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger
It’s more a curiosity kind of read because everyone else is loving it and I feel I should read it too. I’m worried it’ll bring up bad memories from High School so who knows.
Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

Kept by Elle Field
I’ve been wanting to read this for a while now because I’ve heard amazing things! Elle is a lovely girl and I’m sure her novel is just the same.
Life hasn’t quite worked out how Arielle Lockley imagined it would. Becoming the next Coco Chanel was always her childhood dream, but she’s spent the past four years living a dizzying whirl of glitzy parties, luxurious holidays and daily shopping sprees – all paid for by boyfriend Piers – and not doing anything to make her Coco dreams happen.
