The Blurb
Tis the season to be jolly. Unless you’ve found an intimate picture of another woman on your fiance’s phone…

Eve is heartbroken after discovering her fiance is cheating on her. Being surrounded by the joys of Christmas is more than Eve can bear, so she chooses to avoid the festivities by spending Christmas alone on a houseboat in Pangbourne. Eve gets an unexpected seasonal surprise when handsome local vet Greg comes to her rescue one day, and continues to visit Eve’s boat on a mission to transform her from Kitchen Disaster Zone to Culinary Queen.

But where does Greg keep disappearing to? What does Eve’s best friend Daisy know that she isn’t telling? And why is there an angry goose stalking Eve’s boat?

The Review
Yay, it’s finally acceptable to start reading Christmas novels. I absoutely love Christmas, so I’m very excited!

How to stuff up Christmas will be the second novel I have read of Rosie’s, and I have to say they just keep getting better and better. If you’re interested, you can read my review of How to get a (love) life here.

Eve is heartbroken and seems to be hating life at the moment. Her ex-finance Liam destroyed their relationship just before they were due to get married – what a horrible guy. Now that Christmas is approaching all Eve can think about is the festive proposal a year previous and the questions from her family – that doesn’t sound thrilling! She embarks on a mini-adventure on a barge whilst enrolling on a pottery course.

This is why I always say NEVER get engaged at Christmas because if anything happens (god forbid) you’ll just hate Christmas and associate it with everything rubbish. Maybe wait until the middle of the year and it won’t be as bad if it doesn’t work out.

How to stuff up Christmas is a story all about how you can turn your life around, even after a heart break. Eve was a fine example of a strong woman, well, not so much near the beginning, but she did pick herself up and tried something new!

You can’t have a Christmas novel without a little romance and how to stuff up Christmas has lots of it! Eve meets Greg and although it isn’t always plain sailing it’s nice to read about some kissing and love – in a soppy way!

I will admit that I didn’t like how she presumed Greg was making excuses about meeting up, he had genuine reasons and she just tarnished him with the same brush as her ex – naughty Eve!

The inclusion of the recipes at the beginning of each chapter was a nice touch – a few have been added for comical value, but others I’d certainly like to try!

The book in a nutshell… A Christmas story that will warm your heart 🙂
