I want Wednesday #7

There’s never a Wednesday where I think “Hmm, I don’t want any books this week’, that sentence just does not exist in a book lovers vocabulary – I always want books!

Below you will find a selection of books that I do need this week, and thanks to a lovely gift from Ann Troup, I will purchase some!

Jpod Douglas CouplandJpod by Douglas Coupland
I did have a copy of this novel but I lent it to someone and sadly never got it back – naughty. It’s a little geeky, but really interesting!

Ethan Jarlewski and five co-workers whose surnames begin with “J” are bureaucratically marooned in jPod, a no-escape architectural limbo on the fringes of a massive Vancouver game design company. The jPodders wage daily battle against the demands of a boneheaded marketing staff, who daily torture employees with idiotic changes to already idiotic games.

The DuffThe Duff – Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger

It’s more a curiosity kind of read because everyone else is loving it and I feel I should read it too. I’m worried it’ll bring up bad memories from High School so who knows.

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

I’ve been wanting to read this for a while now because I’ve heard amazing things! Elle is a lovely girl and I’m sure her novel is just the same.

Life hasn’t quite worked out how Arielle Lockley imagined it would. Becoming the next Coco Chanel was always her childhood dream, but she’s spent the past four years living a dizzying whirl of glitzy parties, luxurious holidays and daily shopping sprees – all paid for by boyfriend Piers – and not doing anything to make her Coco dreams happen.

I want Wednesday #6

Friday for me was payday and I haven’t actually bought any books yet – what is wrong with me? So, this post is going to showcase all the books that I want hehe. If you’re unfamiliar with what I want Wednesday is all about – view here.

colouring-bookThe Mindfulness Colouring Book: Anti-stress art therapy for busy people
Adult colouring books have been floating around the blogging world lately and I’m keen to try one myself. Who doesn’t like colouring in and being all creative? I also love stationary too, so you know I’ll be visiting Paperchase for a pencil case and colour pencils. Have any of you lovely readers bought one? Let me know and show me your creations!

Purchase from Amazon UK and Amazon US.

Lisa recommended the novel to me and suggested I give it a go because she loved it. How can I disagree with Lisa? She only ever recommends fantastic things.

What if you realized the book you were reading was all about you? When an intriguing novel appears on Catherine’s bedside table, she curls up in bed and begins to read. But as she turns the pages she is sickened to realize the story will reveal her darkest secret. A secret she thought no one else knew.

I want Wednesday #5

I want Wednesday is back and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you can view my explanation post here. It’s basically a post listing all the nice and pretty things I want which tend to be book related. However, this may vary from time to time.

So, here goes, what do you think I want this Wednesday?

Bookshelf Boyfriend Mug(Image Credit)
My Bookshelf Mug is my Boyfriend from Etsy store owner AlisaBobzien
You can never have too many mugs in your life and more so when they’re quoted with the above! I know I’m engaged, but still, my bookshelf is my boyfriend because they are loving, make you feel content and never let you down. I do love Tom, I promise!

I want Wednesday #4

Well, I haven’t done one of these posts for a while, have I? Oops! It’s been a little hectic in the Henry/Holland household, but now that it’s all calmed down I’m back on track and in need of a lot of things, i.e books!

Christmas is the perfect time to start writing a wishlist and to let all the Elves know what things you want Santa to bring. Naturally I’m going to ask for a few books and a new hairdryer, but there’s always need for other things, too. I always try to make my ‘I want Wednesday’ posts book related, but today, I don’t think it will be.

I WANT THIS SO BAD! I know I’ve used capital letters, but oh my, how pretty it is? The Teacup necklace is so cute. It’s from Etsy seller Love Trinkets and she has lots of other cute little pieces of jewellery, too. I think it would be nice to showcase just how much I love Tea!

I doubt you’d be surprised to know that I currently own two teapots, but hey, you can never have too many, right? Since moving out of my parents’ home in March I actually have nothing Christmas related as it belonged to them, so I thought what a perfect excuse to buy this Christmas Pudding teapot! Plus, at £12 it’s a bargain!

I want Wednesday #3

It’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m hoping that everything I list in this post will magically turn up at the end of bed, like Christmas. Surely Santa and the birthday fairy read my posts, right?

Anyway, recently I have been wanting to start a new series of books that not only excite me, but keep me entertained throughout, because most of the time, I get bored. I am reading the House of Night Series and although I enjoyed it at the beginning, it’s turning out to be the worst set of books I’ve ever read; we’re currently on book 11 and still going.

So, I did a little research and asked you lovely lot for your opinions and found the following that I’d like to get involved with.

81S2h9aH1aLThe Mortal Instruments – Cassandra Clare
I think this one is obvious, isn’t it? I’ve seen hundreds of positive reviews regarding this series and after reading ‘The Infernal Devices‘ I’d quite like to read something else by Cassandra Clare. I’m a keen reader of Fantasy novels so I’m quite excited to give this one a go! I have the first two books in the series, so my wanting is the next few! (Picture Credit: Amazon)

FeverFever – Karen Marie Moning
I was recommended this series by a user from Twitter. (I’m really sorry, I can’t find the Tweet and I’m not sure who told me, but if it is you, please let me know!). Fever is another Fantasy series following the life of MacKayla Lane, a girl trying to find answers about his Sister’s death. (Picture Credit: Amazon)

I know I’m nearly 27, but do you know what I really want to read? A Jacqueline Wilson book. There’s something about reading a book by this author that makes me feel content and all happy inside, maybe it’s because I was young at the time and had no cares in the world!

Lola Rose, Midnight and Love Lessons are probably the three that I’d like to read at the moment. Everyone must know the Girls in Love series, now that was brilliant. There was even a programme on ITV and I really liked that, too. (Picture Credit: Amazon)

I want Wednesday #2

It’s Wednesday which can only mean one thing, ‘I want Wednesday’ is back. I’m now on post number 2 which obviously means I’m greedy and want a lot more things hehe. The concept behind ‘I Want Wednesday’ is all about wanting lots and lots of things, especially things related to books! It could be a list of books that I want, maybe I fancy a new cover for my Kindle or even a new mug with a book quote; the list is endless.

Since my last ‘I want Wednesday’ post (read here) I have bought The Manifesto of How to be Interesting and also, Anna and the French Kiss (amongst other books) so today’s post is more going to be about book accessories or book related bits and bobs. Also, let me know in the comments if you’re craving anything, I’m nosey and like to know these things! 😉

Book BeddingAlice in Wonderland, bed covers from www.cafepress.co.uk
For those that know me well enough will know that I love reading in bed, it’s cosy, warm and relaxing, so when I saw the above duvet cover on the Internet I may have squealed in delight. They are currently on my Wishlist because with a puppy there’s never a time where our house is mess free. When Mac the dog behaves and stops being a jumpy puppy, I’ll definitely get them!
